The SciLens demonstrators are a realisation of the use cases. They bridge the gap from a desktop analysis into a functional complete implementation to gather first user experiences.
The SciLens project uses the MonetDB system as a basis to address them at all levels of its architecture. From SciQL, a SQL-dialect, through its optimizer framework into a dynamic parallel execution engine.
The use cases all aim to support real-world implementations, which call for judicious use of resources. This implies limitations in the number and complexity of queries posed. Batched processing will be provided for registered users. Users interested in dedicated resources based on, e.g., Cloud facilities should contact us.
